CDA helps clients in the identification and selection of comparables. CDA will recommend a selection of 10-12 agencies based on criteria such as population, total budget, similar services, proximity to client, and client precedent, among other factors, in determining a comparable market.
After comparables are determined, CDA will collect and analyze data from each comparable. Based on this analysis, CDA will propose recommendations and provide reports to the client. CDA considers the market data to be of upmost importance in evaluating job values and determining correct salary levels for client job classifications, while balancing these considerations with classification and internal equity.
CDA also provides recommendations for the client to consider regarding compensation philosophy and policies, based on a review of the comparable agencies, and on CDA’s current experience and knowledge in the compensation field. CDA provides recommendations and “best practices” for the client to consider when setting and defining compensation policy.
